Issue with Adding or opening a Job in Management Studio
Hi there,
When I try to add or open a Job in Management Studio using the SQL Server Integration Service Package I get the following error message;
''The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E) (SqlManagerUI)''
I looked this up and the only suggestions were to reboot the Server.
I went to my SQL Server Configeration Manager and restarted the Sql Server and teh Sql Server Agent but i still get the error.
I am afraid to shut down the server and restart as the last time i did this on single user log in and i nearly couldn't get back into the server as other services were hitting it. however if i shut down now as normal through windows do you think this would happen again.
has anyone experianced this before? or have you resolved it some other way?
Please Advise.
Kind Regards,
Putoch

Hi i found the ms management studio exe file here:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Tools\Binn\VSShe ll\Common7 \IDE called SqlWb.exe
In the add and remove programs all i could see was the Ms SQL Server 2005
MS Operations Manager 2005
MS SQL server Navtive Client
i'm not sure am i ment to remove one of these here and then reinstall instead of remove the actual sqlwb.exe?
Thank you.

Hi,
Slight problem, when i shut down my pc and now went to restart it i am getting the following message:
''this computer can't connect to remote computer. Try connecting again. If the problem continues, contact the owner of the remote computer or your network administrator''
This happened before but it seemed just to be configuring it self before restarting.
however this has been shut down 40 mins ago. Although there were 3 updates when i went to shut it down perhaps this has something to do with it?
has anyone had this problem before?
thanks,
putoch

cs97jjm3: you had been advising me to reinstall the SQL Server client tools.
Can you let me know exactly what you removed off when you did this.
Kind Regards,
Putoch.

Solution:
Ok, I had two issue here. First off i ran out of space on my C Drive.
Because of this i cheked some folders and seen that a lot of msp files were filling up on the Installer folder in Windows, so i moved these. Stupid i know, but i had been previously getting errors saying that the patches were not downloading correctly anyways so i thought this would not make any impact.
So becuase of moving these files from the C drive i couldn't remove the SQL workstation Tollds from the SQL Server 2005 add and remove programs.
I had to download a exe file called MSIZAP and call this from the command line.
this got rid of any orphaned msp files and actually freed up about 6GB of space.
Now i was able to REmove the Work Station Tools only on the SQL SERVER 2005, and add these again.
I logged of and restarted and everything worked fine.
Thanks,
hope this helps someone else too.
