Unable to open dts package in SQL Server 05

I am unable to open a dts package that was created in SQL Server 2000 in SQL Server 05. I have the SQL Server 2000 DTS Designer components installed as suggested and when this didn't work I followed the directions to alter the sqlwb.exe.manifest file in the KB article all to no avail. Can anyone suggest another soution? This is a huge dts package and I would hate to re-create it if I don't have to.
