I usually use Access to work with the data in my SQL Server 2000. Recently I used Enterprise Manager to add a field to a table, then populated the field with data by creating a SQL query in Enterprize Manager.. In my Access 2000 database, I deleted my link to this table and created a new link so that my new field would show up. However now, I can no longer update or delete records from this table in my Access database. Another linked table in this database still allows my updates and deletions.
