Question

SQL job schedule to run every 30 seconds

I whant to schedule this Job to run every 30 seconds but SQL enterprise manager only allows me to run it every 1 minute.

I've heard you can put a delay command on the script but I'm new to SQL and have no clue where to put it or the sintaxis. Attached are screen captures of how it is configured.

You have to use WAITFOR DELAY command as pevious caller mentioned because you there is no option to run less 1 min execution in sql agent job. Schedule your job to every day/hour with the following code...
while 1=1
BEGIN
WAITFOR DELAY '00:00:30'
EXEC pr_UpdateVisitor
if @@error <> 0
break
END

This is my firt time using SQL, would I add this code to the "Edit Job Step Window" in the "Command" field?

Seems to me like the schedule is included in the code, do I still need the "schedule" that was set for 1 minute interval?

I believe it could be something like this:
1) Delete the schedule you already have set on the job.
2) Run the following statement:
Try this.

EXEC msdb.dbo.sp_add_jobschedule @name=N'Visitor_data_Syncronization', 
            @enabled=1, 
            @freq_type=4, 
            @freq_interval=4, 
            @freq_subday_type=1, 
            @freq_subday_interval=30, 
            @freq_relative_interval=0, 
            @freq_recurrence_factor=0, 
            @active_start_date=20080423, 
            @active_end_date=99991231, 
            @active_start_time=0, 
            @active_end_time=235959

But of course setting the WAITFOR to 30 seconds will still make the job run only every minute, just 30 secs later. Unless of course you have TWO scheduled jobs, one with and one without the WAITFOR.

There is an undocumented seconds option @freq_subday_type = 2 that's not available in UI.
