T-SQL Format Date for a VIEW

In vb I can format a date with Format(fld,'ddd mmm d') which returns
Wed Feb 5
for example.

I need to do the same thing for a view in SQL Server, return the date in the format like, Tue Aug 7.

SELECT ??? as dt FROM tblStart Free Trial
