DROP INDEX whose table has already been dropped, but the index is alive

Zone: MS SQL Server

I have the attached code snippet .sql to recreate a table in SQL2K.

Problem is, I've dropped and re-created it already, and when I try again I get the following error message:

Server: Msg 2714, Level 16, State 4, Line 2
There is already an object named 'PK_foo' in the database.

Question: How to drop a CONSTRAINT that has apparently been orphaned from its table?

when you drop a table, all it's indexes and contraints are dropped also.

you MUST have another object with the same name, that could be a table, a view, a trigger ... despite what the name would indicate...

to get the name of the table the primary key belongs to:

select object_name(parent_obj) from dbo.sysobjects where name = 'PK_foo'

alter table [table from above query]
drop constraint pk_foo
