SQLSERVER.exe takes up 100% CPU utilization

Asked by hgarciatx in MS SQL Server, VMware

I have a SQL server that is virtualized on VMWARE with 4 CPU and 8GB of memory.  Since Thursday the SQLSERVER.EXE has posted anywhere from 90-100% CPU utilization.

so far we have performed following:
1.  ruled out Virus
2.  Reindexed database and tables
3.  contacted VMWARE and they checked the vmware logs and found nothing.

Nothing has changed in terms of application code.

Can anyone please provide a roadmap for troubleshooting this issue.Start Free Trial
