The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

SQL Server 2000 Settings...

Asked by Overthere in MS SQL Server, Microsoft IIS Web Server

Tags: Microsoft, SQL, 2000, query settings

I managed to get into a place to change a few settings for a problem I was having in SQL 2000 - it wouldn't allow me to copy a table to another dbase.  SO I changed a few settings, but NOW I FORGOT where they were.  Honestly it was super early in the morning and I wasn't quite thinking straight and I know I changed about 3 settings - it seems like there were 5 or so on a small screen.  I really bumped the numbers up (from like 100 to 15000) to see if it would assist in the timeout problem I was having.  Now I have to try to move them back to where they were but no clue.  I am thinking that I'm seeing poorer performance on my server since I changed these settings, however I can't be sure.

I don't know if it was within SQL or IIS that I made the change.  Any clues would be helpful.  It had to do with my timeout problem.  The places that I have already checked are PROPERTIES of the dbase and Tools...Options within Enterprise Manager and PROPERTIES of the APP within IIS.  Any/All suggestions are welcome.  I Know I'm a bonehead - I'll definitely write it down next time I do find it or ever decide to change something again!  I just need suggestions as to where I might look for these hidden settings.
