The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Note: Node 2 was decommissioned without having creating a prior snapshot so failover is not a possible option in trying to fix this particular issue.

Well I'm not sure what all your errors are really pointing to, but I've troubleshot our issues with SQL before.  I'm assuming you've done the following:

Restarted all services having to do with SQL
Ensured your SQL account (assuming you have one) is still functioning and not locked out or disabled
All the services for SQL are run by an account you've logged in with

Now assuming you have all services up and running and you *should* be having it work, but it's not working yet:

Not a great idea, but if you took your node 2, started it up (hopefully you didn't wipe the server), did an SQL backup just for the pertinent databases, then restored onto the new (old) SQL databases.

This would be a very minimal if any loss of data, and it could be done relatively fast.

If you didn't do a backup of your databases, then your only other option would be to fix this server as is.

That might require some tinkering for hours with almost no certainty of getting it back up if data was corrupted.

Hope that helps.

Not sure exactly what you've done towards a solution, but this is the best I can come up with.

-Dale

Somehow we had some registry settings get deleted. Here is the article that corrected our issue:
