CSV file not created - Error = Could not locate entry in sysdatabases for database 'DBNAME'. No entry found with that name. Make sure that the name is entered correctly.

I have a stored proceedure that runs through ASP. It works perfectly on 3 different setups. I have copied it to a new SQL Server installation and it isn't doing what it is supposed to do.

I dont get any errors in the ASP code but when I run it in query analyser I get

SQLState = 08004, NativeError = 911
Error = [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Could not locate entry in sysdatabases for database 'DBNAME'. No entry found with that name. Make sure that the name is entered correctly.

Return Value = 1

(Return value = 1 implies that it has worked)

The ONLY difference between this SQL installation and all the others is that there are 2 SQL servers on this server, one for Microsoft CRM and one for SQL Server 2000.

The CRM is (local) and the SQL 2000 is STORAGE\LOCAL

All my ODBC point to the correct databases - the ASP code works like a charm.

The SP is attached below, as previously mentioned it is working correctly on 3 other installations.

I call the SP with

execute master..spExportData 'DBNAME', 'select * from DBTABLE, 'C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\LOCATION\files\DBTABLE.csv'

DBNAME does actually exist (I made sure using sp_helpdb)
DBTABLE does exist and has records
the path to file exists and has full write/read/execute permissions for everyone.

Why do I get the error and why isn't my CSV file being created?

The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!
