we have a long standing sql 200o cluster running on windows 2003 MS cluster

at 1:26 some mornings the sql service "fails" and the box fails over but not quite the sql agent doenst make it in one pice so when we get in we need to reboot.
there are many things we have considered but hard to test as this issue may occur twice in a month or not at atll in 40 days. only factor is 1:26
there is a back up job running during the fail over which runs fine when done during the day
looking in to processor times being out
but any other ideas? or even ones that can help woith diagnosing event viewer not helpful SQLService Failed" (yes pf course there are more :-) but nothing i see of causes
