MSrepl_identity_range

Asked by MMTadmin in MS SQL Server

Tags: , ,

I set up automatic identity range management on an article with the following values

Range size at Publisher       = 50,000,000
Range size at Subscriber    = 50,000,000
Assign a new range            = 99

The first ID that was used at the subscriber was 150,000,002, I do not understand why it was not 50,000,001?

I am not really worried about the 2 on the end just the missing 100,000,000 identities

The publisher database does have data already in it and was copied to the subscriber site, not sure if that is an issue

MSrepl_identity range table at both sites shows the following

Publisher:
21575115 | 100,000,000 | 50,000,000 | 50,000,000 | 2,147,483,647 | 99 | 100,000,000

Subscriber:
21575115 | 150,000,000 |   <NULL>    | 50,000,000 |  200,000,000   | 99 | 199,999,999

Any help would be appreciated there is little information on the web about this .......
