Yes, we both use our NT logins, which are different. I cannot give the user the same permissions I have, though because the user can execute the SP, I'm wondering if it's something specific to the OLE DB provider?

Browse All TopicsHello,
I've looked online and on EE, but haven't found an answer to this issue.. I have an OPENROWSET statement that references an Excel file The OPENROWSET statement works fine when I try to run it, however a different user gets the following error:
.....................
Msg 7415, Level 16, State 1, Procedure rollup_base_codes_import, Line 28
Ad hoc access to OLE DB provider 'Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0' has been denied. You must access this provider through a linked server.
.....................
Here is some more info. I know that this user has access to the Excel folder and file, and has execute permissions on the SP.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
