Question

Changing ANSI_NULLS option on existing table

Asked by: davidlars99

Hi,

Is it at all possible to change "set options' on existing tables, or do I have to drop and recreate with desired option set to on/off?

Thanks

The SET ANSI_NULLS setting is only used at run time.

Yeah, but its set for objects when they're created, so it can cause some funky results if the settings aren't right when you create the object.

You are right.  I stand corrected.

ok thank.

how about this?
select OBJECTPROPERTY(object_id(N'mytable'), N'ExecIsAnsiNullsOn')

above doesn't work for tables. is there similar thing for tables as well?

by: chapmandewPosted on 2009-04-23 at 12:28:04ID: 24218860

you can't change it once the object has been created....you can view the property, but cant change it unless you drop and recreate it.
