Question

SQL get SUM of multiple columns and then their AVERAGE

Hello, have the below code in a stored procedure (Visual Studio 2008/MSSQL 2005), that is tied to a GridView control.  It currently returns/shows a column of regional office names ('ro' field) and a single column for the sum of a bunch of integers.

ro                       sum
========================
Office 1            100
Office 2             155
Office 3             200
...

I would like to be able to add another column to the result that shows the average of the preceding column.  Logically a AVG(Sum(d1)+Sum(d2)+...), but of course that returns an error about not being able to do aggregate functions.


ro                       sum           avg

Office 1            100              20
Office 2             155             22
Office 3             200             25
...
Can someone help me out with this?
