aspnetdb database connection problem

Asked by perfcon in MS SQL Server, .NET, Databases Miscellaneous

Error: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)

My situation: I developed a web apps in VS 2005 and SQL 2005 then moved it to another machine where VS 2008 and SQL 2008 are installed. I converted it successfully. In my new machine SQL Express is not installed.
So I deleted the old aspnetdb.mdf from my APP_DATA folder and create one with SQL 2008 using VS command prompt.

I know that framework 3.5 is based on framework 2. So my questions are:

1. Do I still need to use sql express of 2005 version only for aspnetdb, or I can do it on sql 2008 standard edition?
2. Though one aspnetdb has been created in sql 2008, and I can query it successfully(though there is no data in any table of aspnetdb as it is a brand new one) why I am getting error that I need to install sql 2005 components?
