Browse All TopicsI have a SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition on a 64-bit Server. I was upgrading from SP2 to SP3. After completing the upgrading, the setup reported some componets failed to be installed. Error is:
MSP Error: 1316 A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file: <some path to the file>
Any suggestions why this occurred? Products that failed are Microsoft SQL Server VSS Writer, Backward Compatibility, and SQLXML4.

Hello,
When looking at the log files, I did find '"return value 3". Not sure what they mean. We are using Group Policy. In the Cache folder, the files are located in the folder. Can you tell me why they are not there? Can you offer any suggestions?

Don't install from a network drive. Always use a local drive.
