ODBC - Client Configuration

I have a program that uses SQL Server and around 50 clients that uses this program... when Installing this program on clients..
I have to create a user data source to our DATABASE on the server which called (DATA_2009) ... I've been told by the software developer engineer that during the setup of the database source.. the MSQL Server DSN configuration ( Client configuration).. the network libraries should be set to use Named pipes...

on some clients these settings can be saved and the program on it will work perfectly.... but on other clients i'm unable to save settings and most of the clients have it set to use TCP/IP instead. On certain times the program on all of the clients will stop saving entered data to the SQL server..

Any solution please?
