Image in a report in Reporting Services (2008) displays in IE 9 but not 8?

Hi,

I have a report in reporting services 2008 with an image that will display in IE 9 but not in IE 8? What could possibly be causing this issue?
Thanks,
Rhonda

I came across a report of a similar issue the other day.  The problem there was that the images were saved in a CMYK image color space, which IE9 can display but IE8 and earlier cannot.

If you take the image into, say, IrfanView, and resave it in RGB color space, you should be able to view the image in any browser.

This is an IE8- limitation.

Changed the image format to .GIF instead of .JPG and this fixed the problem.

for the following reason:

It was a simple change that worked for all browsers
Note that changing a .jpg to a .gif automatically changes the colorspace to RGB, as that is the only colorspace that the .gif format supports.
