The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

sql query help

Asked by Angela4eva in SQL Query Syntax, MS SQL Server

Documents
Docid  Status date

1      abc   12/16/2009
2      CCH   12/22/2009
3      PPD   12/21/2009

DocumentsHistory
DochistoryID   Docid   Status   date
   1             1      PPD     12/1/2008
   2             1      GGB     12/13/2008
   3             2      NAF     12/2/2008
   4             2      PPD     12/3/2008
   5             2      Xyz     12/7/2008
   6             3      AAD     12/7/2008

Below query that takes parameters as begin and end date and
I want to get all the records from document history and documents table
that had  status of PPD atleast once but not the status as XYZ

The query should returns

For above example it will return
 docid status date
  1    PPD       12/1/2008

this will  not get the record docid=2 because it had a status of XYZ in one of the records.
Now I want to change this query so once I get the results from this query, I want to check the next status for that record
(using the datatime in the date field) and if it within the startdate and enddate and then it return the record and there is
no next status (means thats is the latest date of that record with status PPD) it should also get this record. please note that we need to check both the table
So for the above example it should return
For above example it will return
 docid status date
  1    GGB    12/13/2008
  3      PPD   12/21/2009
