Can´t get the output value from the stored proc

I have a stored proc in my database and it has one output (the new ID of the record just inserted). When I try to retrieve this value I get an error saying Object cannot be cast from DBNull to other types. That´s basically telling me that there is nothing coming from the output parameter right ? I have tested the stored proc in the Query analyzer and I can see the output is right. Somehow the codebehind isn´t getting this value at all. I have googled this problem and viewed code from others and I´m not doing anything differently, can anybody tell me what might be the problem here ?

The error generates on this line: NyttELSNumer = Convert.ToInt32(e.Command.Parameters("@NyttELSNumer").Value)
