truncate or remove an old transaction log in sql2005

Asked by urobins in SQL Server 2005, MS SQL Server

Tags: log, truncate, transaction

Iam running sql2005 and I have a transaction log that did not have a maintenance plan on it so it was never truncated.  It has grown to 112 gigs and I need to get it down in size.  I have run multiple backups on it today.  Is there a way to now truncate the existing log?

I had to create a new drive on the machine and put the new backup location to that drive so the old 112gig file still seems to reside on the old drive which is the main data drive, I need to free up that spaceStart Free Trial
