Select Query with Trim and Like operators

Asked by JackW9653 in SQL Server 2005, MS SQL Server, SQL Query Syntax

Hello Experts,

I need a Select query for SQL 2005 that will retrun a list of records that have the last name starting with a specified letter, unfortunately the table stores the names as first and last combined, for instance JOHN DOE. I want the user to enter the first letter of the last name (D in this case) and get all of the names where the last name begins with D.

Thanks,
