Casting Problems when using IN() function

Hi,

I am trying to get DB information from a stored procedure to my .Net page, my problem is that in the stored procedure, i am doing a compare (using IN() ) where one field type is Integer and the other is a VarChar which consists of a coma delimited list of integers... here's my select statement that i can't get to work, or at least what i'm trying to accomplish:

CREATE PROCEDURE get_bidding_items_pr

@username varchar

AS

SELECT my_auctions_t.bidding_txt, items_t.item_id FROM my_auctions_t, items_t WHERE my_auctions_t.user_nme=@username AND items_t.status_ind=0 AND items_t.item_id IN (my_auctions_t.bidding_txt)
GO

right, now there lies the problem... the coma delimeted list cannot be converted directly into an integer delimited list for the IN function... therefore, is there a way of doing this by converting the Integer field to a varchar? i've tried String and CAST but both give no results when some should be returned (e.g.: bidding.txt=1,2,3,4,5 -- and the result set is valid for 2 items)...

can you help me out? Much appreciated.
