Update statement in T-SQL

I have a table TransactionTable which has six columns,
ID - this is the primary key,
Region
RegionValue
Code
Date
Area

I have another table Translation
which has four columns, ID, InboundValue, Type, OutboundValue

What I need to do is set the RegionValue of the TransactionTable to the value of the OutboundValue from Translation table , where the date and area equals the values 05/01/2008 and 'NA' and the  Code equals the InboundValue from the Translation table and the Type of the Translation is 'X'

Not sure if this is going t work...

Update TransactionTable
Set RegionValue = OutboundValue
where Date ='05/01/2008'
and Area = 'NA'
inner join Translation
on Code = InboundValue
and Type = 'X'

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community
