SQL DateTime Function

Asked by DylanJones1 in SQL Server 2005, MS SQL Server, SQL Query Syntax

Can someone tell me what the purpose of the following function might be:  I came across it in an older stored proc. Really what I am wondering is the effect of the "1440" - it seems its just returning a days worth of minutes when the start and end datetimes are equal. By the way the data is hours -

StartDate 1:45
End Date  2:30
