The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. Why does sp_send_dbmail fail when @query is included

Whenever I use sp_send_dbmail in a procedure and use the @query parameter -- it fails.  Everything work perfectly using sp_send_dbmail.  Then I stick in an @query parameter and I get this message:

Msg 15404, Level 16, State 19, Server MAP3, Line 1 Could not obtain information about Windows NT group/user 'MSFX\smithqc', error code 0x5

I've posted about this error before but thought the problem was that I was trying to use sp_send_dbmail in a trigger.  Nope, looks like I even get the same error in a stored procedure.

My userid is issued by the domain.  The SQL Server I am using is NOT a domain controller but it is a "member" server of the domain.  My userid has administrator rights on the server.

We are running SQL Server 2005 and Windows Server 2003.

NOTE:  Please do not refer me to this (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/834124/en-us) Microsoft article, as it does not address STATE 19 of the error message and I found the article generally useless.
