The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services - not able to be set email address for end users in New Subscriptions

Asked by mike_humphreys in SQL Server 2005, Email Software, Databases Miscellaneous

===== Begin Original Question=================================================
We're running SQL Server 2005 reporting services with email notification setup (and working)

Our issue is that when our end users go to create a new subscription to a report and wish to have it delivered via email the TO address that is filled in is: firstname.lastname   (no domain)

The TO address is grayed out and as such can't be edited. We've amended the AD user object of the users to include their email address (we use Lotus Notes (spit) as an email client which is not integrated into the AD) - it doesn't pass through

As admins, we're able to type any email address at all when creating new subscriptions....

My question, in short is, how do we automatically append a domain name onto the TO: addresses on a site wide basis??

Thanks,

JC
===== End Original Question=================================================

We have the same problem, except that we are running MS Exchagne Server 2005. One point of contention may be that the SQL Server is in a DMZ, being a different Domain to the 'normal' one.

In my investigations to date, I've found that the only way for non-Content Manager users is to allow the "normal" users to have the "Manage all subscriptions" Task added to their assigned Role.

As we don't want general users to be able to see everyone else's subscriptions, this isn't a solution.

My questions is: what have we managed to mess up in the configuration of this server?

Many thanks in advance,
