Hello everybody,
we have a dual xeon with 4gb of ram and currently running W2K. I'm going to upgrade it to Windows 2003 and install 6 hds configured in a RAID. I'm wondering what configuration would be the best for SQL 2005: put all the 6 hds in on array (RAID 5 or 6 maybe), or let's say 3 hds in an array for the log file and the other 3 for the db. In this db we have many tables but actually 2 of them with more activity: accounting and transactions. We have available in the same server a SCSI which is not so new and another SATA hd.
And for Windows 2003, the SCSI, the SATA or another array?
Well, lot of questions for you. Enjoy.
Thanks!
