The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. update a NULL id column after appending rows to a table incrementing by 1

I have appended 19 rows to a table, and now they have a NULL value in the ID column.

The max value is 1997. I would like to update the remaining 19 rows with the next highest number. For example:

I HAVE:

ID
------
1997
NULL
NULL

I NEED:

ID
------
1997
1998
1999

I cannot set this column to identity. I need to find a way to update the new 19 rows without changing the table structure. I think a cursor would do the trick, but I can't see to figure it out.
