Opening a SQL Server Compact Edition 3.5 SP1 Sample

So, I have SQL Server 2005 Developer installed on my system, which works fine for anything.

Now, I downloaded the SQL Server Compact Edition 3.5 SP1 to give a try, for a small and simple application I'm working on.

So, I used the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio to try to open the SQL Server Compact Edition sample database "Northwind.sdf". But when I tried, I got this message:

It says that I have to run "Compact / Repair".... but compact with what? repair with what?
What do I need to just open the SSCE 3.5 sample database in Management Tool, so I can see the tables, storeds and whatever it has on it?

Have you got visual studio.... compact edition does not work with management tools as far as I recall, however you can connect to it inside visual studio

In the Visual Studio where exactly?

Now, respecting the Management Studio, in the Object Explorer, in the Connect menu, there's an option that says "SQL Server Compact Edition", so I suppose, I should be able to connect... but just I can't.

Hmmm... im not sure with management studio.... visual studio allows the development of c# applications...

I usually get fast and accurate answers in EE, but I think SSCE is somehow, barely used.

I found the right answer in the wikipedia:

Sql Server Management Studio  2005 can open 3.0 and 3.1 SSCE databases.

And Sql Server Management Studio 2008 is the one to be used to open SSCE 3.5 databases.

But, yes Visual Studio is also able to open the files, in the same corresponding versions.
