Trying to connect Server 2000 32 bit (x86) to Server 2005 32 bit.

Browse All TopicsI have set up a linked server with Management Studio 2008 but no catalogs (databases) show up. Is this a server setting somewhere?
Well I should say that System Catalog shows up as well as default. None of the other databases show up.

Could you please specify version and platform of your local server and the linked one? There is a known issue when creating a linked server to 32-bit SQL on 64-bit instance: http://social.msdn.microso ft.com/for ums/en-US/ sqlsecurit y/ thread/7 b24b699-f8 b9-48e8-ba 78-b037fd3 b1d21/.
BTW, instead of using Object Explorer I would rather try to query the linked server with some T-SQL code.
