Well... Godaddy says they have everythin right on their end.
I do have the username and password correct.
I am connecting using 1433 port.
Is that right?

I am hosting an asp.net web site in Godaddy. I am trying to connect to the database remotely using SQL server management studio express 2005.
According to the technical support, The Direct Access has been enabled, But still i can't access it.
Does any body have any other solution for the problem.
Please advice.
I have been stuck in this for almost a week.

Verify that you're using the correct hostname. Some hosting providers use a separate server for the database.
Make sure that the GoDaddy support tech understands that you're making a remote connection from your location, and not their hosting server. I wasn't aware that they allowed remote connections either, and it is possible that the tech thinks that you're trying to connect from their hosting server.
Hi,
please try these solutions one by one
on your firewall please allowing TCP 1433, and TCP xxxx (the high level port you manually assigned to your non-default instance).
OR
in your windows registry ; HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWAR
Delete the entry for the server and try again.
OR
go command line and type "netstat -an" see your port status and change the closed port you like.

I didn't know GoDaddy would allow remote connections, but assuming it is set up right on their end, make sure you are connecting via the right port and with the correct username/password.
