sql native client encryption not supported on the client

confused here and in need of some help. I have 1 work station that comes up with the error sql native client encryption not supported on the client. When I arrived I noticed that the work station was assigned an ip that was already in use by another device on the network this allowed no internet but could ping pc around me and the server and the router. but when launching our program it gives the error. I reset the router and the pc got a different ip so I can now ping anything I need to and it replies to the server. looking for some guidance as to how to get thenative client to talk. All other computers can login just fine so it looks loke an issue with just this one.

Does the encryption have to be on?

If not, it sounds like an ODBC call was setup with the Use strong encryption turned on. Try turning it off and see what happens.

In looking at it it looks like I can't get it to connect so I can't get it to the screen with the encryption setting. Looks like I am having an issue with sql verifying the authenticity of the login ID to begin with any Ideas on that? using network administrator account and password and have all last year

the error code I get is:
sql state: '08001'
sql server error 21

Turn off the check box for connect to server -- then try getting to the next page(s).

Thanks for the info Jimpen however this did not work as of now so I will more than likley wipe out the pc and start over. unless you can think of another way?

At this point, I would go with the FDisk and Format option too.

Trying to beat on some of these -- it gets down to one quirk in the registry -- one dll that is off and it just isn't worth tracking it down.
