Question

Run SSIS Package in SQL 2005 Job

Asked by: sproctor722

I have a SQL job that creates a table which I would like to export into Access.  I created the SSIS package which runs fine on its on and creates the table in Access with no problem.  When I incorporate the package as a step in the job it fails.  How can I get this to run?

fails with what errors?
Id the job scheduled? does the owner of the job (or the security context it is running under) have permissions to write to the access db?

You seem to have this package running as the SQL user SA windows has no knowledge of this as it's a built in SQL account. Change the package so that it runs under a windows account that has permissions to the folder where the access db lives

Is forecast a SQL or windows user?

by: sproctor722Posted on 2009-09-30 at 07:04:05ID: 25458941

It's a SQL user.

by: sproctor722Posted on 2009-09-30 at 07:13:46ID: 25459040

FYI - The SSIS package exports SQL data to an Access database.

by: QPRPosted on 2009-09-30 at 12:36:30ID: 25462501

A SQL user isnt going to have permissions to write to a file (access db) on the windows folder.
You're going to need to use a windows login that has the required permissions in the SQL db and the windows folder

by: sproctor722Posted on 2009-09-30 at 12:37:10ID: 25462508

Could the error be occuring because I've created the SSIS package from my desktop and not directly on the server.

If you google that error you'll see postings about ssis not installed properly, could any of this apply to you?
