I needed and installed some cummulative package relesed before sp3 to solve a problem that we faced. That package adviced by the microsoft. We installed and it solved our problem. But my friends from microsoft advice me to wait for the full sp unless there is a problem. If you are not facing a problem you should wait for the sp release instead of installing cummulative update...
Regards.
Dear rrjegan17,
It seems that sQL server 2005 SP3 has only Cumulative Update Package up to 5, or you can show me where is the rest.
I know that MIcrosft recommend that we wait until next service pack, but I think SP3 will be the very last, just like SP for Windows XP x64 edition, never has SP3 fo it but only for x86 edition.
so this means that I will just rock and roll the update to SQL server 2005 SP3 then that's it.
Anything I have to take care before deploying it? I will backup all DB I have first.

To simplify your process, Just install SP3 for SQL Server 2005 which contains all Cumulative updates till 9.
And SP3 is more stabilized compared to these individual update packages..
