HOW TO WRITE A CASE STATEMENT WITHIN A OPEN QUERY IN SQL SERVER 2005

HI i would like to write the below case statement in an open query, please correct the below logic with ocrrect syntax

SELECT * FROM OPENQUERY(VAN_MART, 'SELECT MP.VID,P.SHORT_DESC,STATUS = CASE WHEN MP.STATUS = 1 THEN 'LIVE'  WHEN MP.STATUS = 2 THEN 'TEST'

you missed sigle quotation try this

Try this one out

Two single quotes are required for LIVE and TEST values.

Yes it seems like worked partially now i got  "ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected CHAR got NUMBER error

Datatype of some of your columns are mismatching..
Kindly check the columns in WHERE condition.

And have @START_DATE and @END_DATE values as Varchar and use to_char to convert that into datetime in the WHERE clause as recognized by Oracle..
