Hi,

I haven't yet used Analysis Cubes with GP, but based on the documentation, you will want to schedule the same packages that you used to initially populate the warehouse.

If you need assistance with setting up the scheduled package, you can check SQL Server 2005 Books Online (Help), and search for "How to: Run a Package Using a SQL Server Agent Job".  That provides step by step instructions on the setup.

The two package names are:

DynamicsGP_<source_db>_to_<warehouse_db>_Package_Master
DynamicsGP_<source_db>_to_<warehouse_db>_Run_GL_Budgets_Master

Let me know if that answers your question, or if you need additional assistance.

Unforunately when I schedule and run the job I receive some errors:

Any ideas?

Hi,

It isn't clear to me what exactly the problem is or how to resolve it.  It seems that type of error can be caused by SQL permissions, or if you are not providing the password for an encrypted package.

Unfortunately the Analysis Cubes I'm using are for Dynamics and the password is integrated in the pre-built package not accessable by the user.

Simply running the task in SSIS without any parameters works fine, the problem is when the same thing is done but from within a job.

Hi,

Sorry, but I guess my only advice would be to open a support case with Microsoft.

I recently asked a friend, who is also a certified trainer, if she knows of anyone that is using Analysis Cubes for GP, and she has not seen or heard of a single implementation.  Given this, I'm assuming your best and most efficient route would be to contact them.

Thanks,

I did open a ticket with MS and they resolved the issue.

What I had to do is go into MS BI Studio and create a new project.  Within that project create a DTSX for each Analysis SSIS Task that had been created initially by default.

Save the project and then go into SSIS import and replace each of the default created SSIS tasks with the ones created in the BI Studio.

Once imported then the job pointing to the SSIS packages worked.

What MS said was that it was a known bug and the defaults only worked if it was run on the same server, with the same credentials that was originally used to insatll and configure Analaysis Cubes.
