I am getting this error and can figure it out, I am new to SQL so please be detailed on resolution.

Here is a better example. That is correct that is the name of the stored procedure. Just open the stored procedure and GRANT EXECUTE at the bottom.

I haven't used 2008 so I'll risk being out of date, but...
xp_cmdshell is in the master database if you are going to grant permissions on it to anybody
By default, xp_cmdshell is disabled regardless of permissions and needs to be enabled at the server level with the surface area configuration tool.
Opinions vary, but understand the security ramifications of xp_cmdshell before you turn it on or use it.
xp_cmdshell requires the sysadmin privilages and you can not grant execution to any user that do not have that privilages. and by default the xp_cmdshell is disabled. you can check and enable it as follows. but you must have the sysadmin privilage to do these steps...
you can check it by using sp_configure.
