This is due to sqlsupport.msi installation error. In this case you may try to uninstall the "Microsoft SQL Server Setup Support Files" from the Add/Remove Program and install again.

The message: "Kullan1c1 hesab1 ad1 geçersiz veya yok veya belirtilen hesap ad1 için parola geçersiz." points to insufficient access rights during the installation. It was raised after several attempts to solve the situation and you selected to cancel the installation.

Did you restrict local admin rights somehow on your computer?

The problem was encountered during the installation of "SQL AD Helper Service" for which the service already exists on the computer but it is impossible to change it by installation program because either the NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE or local admin has insufficient rights or even does not exist.

You should discuss with network administrator if it is possible to change AD installed on your computer and why it is restricted. You have to install SQL Server 2008 from user having full access rights.

Reading the detail log it seems you did not uninstall completely the SQL 2008 from the computer (many SQL 2008 related running instances were detected during the setup).

I would recommend to uninstall completely, create a slipstream installation containing SQL2008+SP1 (details on http://blogs.msdn.com/petersad/archive/2009/02/25/sql-server-2008-creating-a-merged-slisptream-drop.aspx), login as local administrator and try the installation again. You should allow the local user to be a SQL admin - you may remove it later.

Having your computer not on hand it is hard to help here. You may post the detail log to MSFT (e.g. at http://connect.microsoft.com/default.aspx)

Some (for you less significant) information are here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/955396

    okey @pcelba,

i will try tonight to uninstall all sql server 2008 instances.

but i cant understand what did you mean in this sentence "You should allow the local user to be a SQL admin"

my os is XP SP 3

    by: pcelbaPosted on 2009-07-10 at 09:12:12ID: 24824783

The detail log contains: AddCurrentUserAsSQLAdmin = False
If such setting is not possible to change during the installation then you can do nothing. Local admins are SQL Server admins by design so, this setting is not necessary for you.

The interesting thing is the point where the installation failed the first time. The detail log pointed to SQL Server Active Directory helper Service. But the reason can be insufficient uninstallation of the previous SQL version. AD helper is normally not necessary to run SQL Server if you don't use AD on the laptop.

XP is not mentioned as supported OS for SQL 2008 Enterprise but this is not the reason of your problems.

uninstalled all sql server 2008 instances, also remove all sql server components in add/remove program..

then try installing again but same problem:(

when i look services i saw there "SQL Server Active Directory Helper" but i cant start it..give an error..

    what can i do now?..

Two AD Helper services exist, one for SQL 2005, another one for SQL 2008. They are disabled obviously. The AD helper is started by SQL Server itself when necessary (e.g. when publishing some contents to AD).

The setup program just checked the AD Helper presence and then it attempted to update it. The existing AD Helper service refused this attempt and it was probably the beginning of your problems. But I am not sure, of course.

The question is if the SQL 2008 AD Helper service was uninstalled together with all other SQL 2008 components.

Errors visible from previous logs are pointing to missing or invalid user accounts or insufficient rights. All account settings necessary for SQL Server are described e.g. here http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143504.aspx  but it is "too heavy" to handle it manually...

So, my recommendation is to take the detail log from the last "clean" installation and post it to MSFT ( http://connect.microsoft.com/default.aspx)
