SQL browser is running on the server and I am able to connect after I click connect the second time.
This is causing a problem in our .NET application as well when we try to connect the first time.
Thanks,
JK
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsWe are getting the following exception only the first time we open Management Studio and try to connect to SQL Server 2005 Express on a remote machine.
Using Windows Authentication and a domain user, the domain user is sysadmin on the SQL Server.
After the timeout exception, we click Connect again and everything works fine.
We can consistently reproduce the error by closing Management Studio and re-opening it and trying to connect again.
SqlException: Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.
How can we debug the issue? I didn't see anything significant in the SQL log or Event Viewer on the server.
Thanks,
JK
