SQL Server 2008 R2 After Install Error
Hey Experts,
I did an complete installation of SQL Server 2008. But at the end it failed with an error message
"The older version of SQL Server 2008 R2 Integration Services cannot be removed. Contact your technincal group"
I had installed and then uninstall 2008 R2 previously.
Plus when open Management Studio, it shows me the instance of 6-months back installed SQL Server 2005 Installation. How to remove that without affecting current instance?
OS: Win 7 Home Premium x64
Thanks

thanks but i faced this error previously also. I had installed SQL Server 2008 (NOT R2) and got similar messages.
I then uninstalled that and thought of installing R2 version as it was near-by release. I had received some very bad errors and had a horrible experience when installing R2. Finally it got installed but failed with error messages as posted in the question.
It would be again the same if i uninstall and Install SQL Server 2008 Version.
Please suggest some possible solution.
Plus i see instance of SQL Server 2005 when i open Management studio. SQL 2005 is not installed, yes but i do see configuration manager under Start --> Program Menu --> SQL Server 2005. I don't see in Add/Remove Program. I had seen in Windows Clean up utility which i have removed.
