OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI10" for linked server "" returned message "Multiple-step OLE DB operation generated errors. Check each OLE DB status value, if available. No work was done.

Hi,

I am getting error given below while updating record from SQL SERVER 2008 R2 64 bit to SQL SERVER 2000 32 bit. I have installed instcat.sql and now sql server 2000's system stored procedures are compatible for 64 bit operations. All datatype in the update statement are same on both sides of the database tables.

OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI10" for linked server "" returned message "Multiple-step OLE DB operation generated errors. Check each OLE DB status value, if available. No work was done.

Your help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi,

I have managed to resolve the issue by myself. Actually, while running the distributed transaction accross linked servers, table on the remote servers requires primary key or constraint. If it is not present then it returns the error as mentioned in question. Thanks for the comments.

Thanks.

Why 0 points are being awarded to me. Is this because I managed to resolve it by myself or do you not consider it as  valid solution ??????????????
