The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Incorrect value outputed from OLE DB Source connection object in SSIS

Asked by TPBPIT in SSIS, MS SQL DTS, SQL Server 2005

My SQL server is SQL 2005 SP2 for 64 bit.  I have some SQL query that runs against a table in a finanical db.  The table has a column that is formatted as Money.  When the query runs in Query Analyzer in the Management the output is correct.  The column for money appears as a two position decimal, i.e. 5.78, 6.70 or 90.00.  However, when I copy the query into OLE DB Source of an Integration Services Project and hit preview the abouve numbers would be returned like 5.78, 6.7 and 90.  It appears that whatever is wrong is causing any trailing zero after the decimal to drop.  Likewise, I am outputing this to a CSV file and I have previewed the output and once again I see the same thing.  I have checked the column type in OLE DB Source connection and it sees the column as currency.  Also, I have written a very simple query that returns that CkRegAmount column and the same exact thing happens which rules out the query beign the issue.  What is going wrong?  Why does the query run correctly in Query Analyzer in the Mgt Studio, but does not in Integration services?  Also, I am pasting the query below.

Thanks,
Damian
