The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

SSIS Job Fails when connecting to Access Database

Asked by LincAdmin in SSIS, Microsoft Access Database, SQL Server 2005

Hello!

We have an SSIS package that simply copies a table from an Access database (located on network) to a SQL table.  The package runs successfully if executed in Visual Studio.  When a job is scheduled to run the package, however, we receive the following error:

Source: Package Connection manager "all"     Description: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR.  An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80004005.  An OLE DB record is available.  Source: "Microsoft JET Database Engine"  Hresult: 0x80004005  Description: "The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file '\\IP_ADDRESS\LOCATION\\all.mdb'.  It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.".  End Error  Error: 2009-09-01 16:16:26.65     Code: 0xC020801C     Source: Data Flow Task SUPPLIER TABLE [3456]     Description: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_CANNOTACQUIRECONNECTIONFROMCONNECTIONMANAGER.  The AcquireConnection method call to the connection manager "all" failed with error code 0xC0202009.  There may be err...  The package execution fa...  The step failed.

The folder the database is in has full permissions granted to everyone.  Also, no one should be in the file.

Any help is appreciated.  Thanks!

John
