SSIS "Slowly Changing Dimension"  Performance issues

Asked by banjara15 in SSIS, SQL Server 2005, MS SQL Server

Hi SSIS Gurus,

I have a question related to the SSIS SCD transformation.
I need to load several Dimension tables with the number of records ranging from 1million to 10 million. I have read several articles about performance issues while using the SCD transformation. I would like to have your opinion on the following:

1) What are the alternatives for replacing the SCD transformation for performance improvement.
2) What performance tuning steps are suggested when using the SCD.
3) Can a Dimension table can be loaded with a StoredProcedure, how?
3) If you have some real life experiences with SCD performance, I'll really appreciate if you could share with me the things you did to resolve it.

This is urgent, I'll really appreciate your prompt reply
Thanks to you all for help..
