I don't understand why on the old server (32 bits) it was working and on the new one no.

Browse All TopicsHi,
we just migrated a sql server db on a 64 bit sql server machine and our openqueries to an oracle database return the error Invalid data for type "numeric"
The query is as simple as this
SELECT * FROM OPENQUERY(linkedserver,
'SELECT * FROM DATA ')
It works if we used to_char for each numeric column, but I was thinking if you know of an easier way to retrieve all columns.
Thanks

Root cause for this issue is numeric precision or conflicitng numeric definition from Numeric ( Oracle) to decimal( SQL Server)
Using to_char for each Numeric column was the only fix / solution for this..
