How can build an expression to calculate my inventory

I am trying to figure out the table structure that will allow me to add and subtract parts from my inventory. I've tried several things, but I mostly get caught in repeating equations. Amount on Hand - Amount Sold =Amount on Hand - Amount Sold = Amount on Hand.... I basically want to have a form that shows that I have 50 bolts, and when a issue a worker 2 in a seperate field, the number changes to 48? It sounded easy when I started, but no luck. There is a chance I'm approaching it all wrong.
