I want to send data from a large recordset in VBA, MS Access 2000, into MS Word 2000. The data gets put into cells in a table. The user can set up the table in Word and in the Access program can then specify how the table is set up so the data can be sent to specific cells in the table. The VBA code then sends the recordset data from the Access table into the cells of the Word document. It copy/pastes cells to keep the formatting. That is basically what the application is doing.
The problem is that the process is too slow, probably because of the copy/paste approach. I am thinking it would be better to first build the whole table in Access, then send everything to Word together. Currently it just sends the data across for each record.
So my question is, it is possible to build a virtual/transient word document with tables in VBA, then send the whole thing over to Word? Perhaps you can create some objects in VBA to do this, however my attempts have not yet worked. Thanks.
