Changing the file settings for .xls files on the user's machine.

Dear Excel Expert.

I need VBA code to change the IE settings for .xls files on the user's machine.

What I am looking for is a way for the OPEN SAVE CANCEL pop UP to be disabled when a user clicks on a hyperlink that Opens an .xls file.

Usually there is a check box stating do not Ask me this again and next time the user opens an xls file on the net, it just OPENS in IE without prompting whether to save or cancel.

When I am finished with my VBA macro I would like the setting to go back to what it originall was.  So if the user had the prompt before I would reset it otherwise not.

Thank you so much.  I hope this is possible.Start Free Trial
